The 26-year-old Nigerian travelled to Italy on Tuesday to finalise the move, passing his medical and completing the paperwork before signing a contract with Venezia running until 2030.
The deal is worth €16.8million in guaranteed fees, plus a further €6.7million in variables tied to objectives - roughly half of which are considered easily achievable - taking the potential total to around €23.5million.
Adams joined Sevilla from Montpellier in the January 2025 winter window for a fee of around €5.5million, meaning the club stand to more than quadruple their initial investment if all add-ons are met.
Injury restricted him to just four appearances in his first half-season at the club, but last term he featured in 33 matches, 22 of them as a starter, scoring 10 goals despite also missing a month through the Africa Cup of Nations. His goals proved decisive in Sevilla's fight to preserve their top-flight status, including strikes against Espanyol and Villarreal that turned results in the club's favour.
Venezia FC's sporting director had spent several days in Seville negotiating the deal, and Adams was left out of Luis Garcia Plaza's squad for last weekend's pre-season opener in Poland as the move was finalised. Venezia head coach Giovanni Stroppa welcomed the signing in an interview with Sky Sport, calling Adams "an important profile who is going to give us a big hand," while adding that he was "very satisfied" with the club's work in the market.
The sale continues a busy summer of outgoing business for sporting director Jose Ignacio Navarro, who was appointed by Sevilla this summer and has already generated a significant saving through the departure of Tanguy Nianzou. The Adams fee gives the club further room to manoeuvre under LaLiga's salary cap rules, with the primary goal still being to free up enough space to register the signings already agreed.
With Adams gone and Rafa Mir set aside from the squad while he negotiates his own exit, Garcia Plaza is left with only Isaac Romero as an out-and-out striker, leaving the club's technical staff needing to find a reliable attacking reference before the season begins - no simple task given Sevilla's financial situation.
