The Brazilian completed the renewal on Thursday in the presence of his wife and son, committing himself to the Catalan club until June 2030. The agreement comes during an outstanding start to the 2026-27 campaign, with Raphinha having scored 19 goals in 13 appearances.
Despite those remarkable numbers, the 29-year-old believes he can take his performances to another level.
"I'm surprised by my performances, but I can go much further," he said. "I didn't imagine I would have scored so many goals at this stage. I always try to give my best. I always try to adapt very quickly to everything. I knew I could score playing as a number nine because, being close to the goal, it's easier."
Raphinha also addressed concerns about his fitness when joining up with Brazil, revealing that he has spoken directly with national team coach Carlo Ancelotti.
"He knows he has to distribute the minutes. An injury would also be complicated for the national team. We've spoken, he knows I'm recovering from my last injury. I'm fine, but I'm not at 100 per cent. The Barcelona fans shouldn't worry because I take very good care of myself."
The captain's ambitions at Barcelona remain considerable. Winning the Champions League is a major objective, but he does not want his focus restricted to one competition.
"All footballers want to be recognised for the titles. For now, the numbers are positive. I have a very big goal, like my team-mates, and we do everything possible to achieve it. But I don't want only that title."
Raphinha also reflected on the difficult reception he experienced during his first two seasons at Barcelona, when sections of the support questioned his performances and the decision to sign him.
He insisted that his commitment never wavered, even when his future at the club appeared uncertain.
"From the first day I have always given my best, in every possible way. Obviously, I didn't get the results people expected, but I always knew what I could do in this shirt. In my opinion, I've always done the same thing: I've given my life, with intensity, I've scored a lot...
"If you look at my first two years, I didn't imagine I would be here, but I knew where I could get to and I trusted my work, my quality and my desire."
He reserved particular praise for sporting director Deco, whom he credited with helping his development, and for team-mate Lamine Yamal. Raphinha said he would be delighted to see the young winger win ten Ballon d'Or awards, believing he deserves recognition for what he has already achieved and what lies ahead.
The Brazilian also suggested he could finish his career at Barcelona, provided his body allows him to continue performing.
With his new contract secured, Raphinha's immediate focus is on maintaining his extraordinary form and helping Barcelona compete for every available trophy. He also urged supporters not to become anxious during the forthcoming international break, reiterating that he is taking care of his fitness.
