Juventus have reached an agreement with free agent goalkeeper Neto to sign on a free transfer as back-up to Vicario, filling the gap left by Kamil Grabara's serious knee ligament injury.
The move closes off Juventus's immediate goalkeeping business, but the club's transfer department has already turned its attention to a longer-term target: Manchester City left-back Rayan Aït-Nouri, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Juventus first approached Aït-Nouri's camp at the end of August, when the Algeria international feared he would struggle for game time under new City head coach Enzo Maresca.
That fear has since become reality. Aït-Nouri has been restricted to marginal appearances in the Champions League and Carabao Cup, without a single Premier League outing this season, and Juventus have now reopened contact during the international break, putting themselves in pole position for a January move.
The plan under discussion is a straightforward loan, with a right to buy at most, leaving any long-term financial commitment until the summer.
How much of that plan comes to fruition may depend largely on how much game time Maresca gives Aït-Nouri once domestic football resumes after the break.
