Bright Ede is a new RC Deportivo player. The centre-back has signed with the blue-and-white club until June 2031 to strengthen the Galician side's defence for their return to LaLiga.

The 19-year-old is regarded as one of the brightest young prospects in European football. A Poland Under-19 international, Ede arrives from Motor Lublin, the club he joined from Zaglebie Lubin in January 2025 and where he made his senior breakthrough in Poland's Ekstraklasa.

Despite his youth, he made 17 official appearances for the first team last season and scored once, establishing himself as one of the standout revelations of the Polish top flight. The move is reported to be worth around โ‚ฌ6million plus bonuses, a record sale for Motor Lublin.

Left-footed and with the profile to develop into a top-level central defender, Ede stands out for his physical power, pace and defensive solidity, qualities that allow him to perform both in open play and in more positional defensive set-ups.

At 1.93m tall, he also offers Deportivo a strong aerial presence to add to their backline, and his composure on the ball gives Antonio Hidalgo's side another option capable of playing out from the back.

Ede made his senior debut for Motor Lublin in March, scoring on his first appearance in a win over Stal Mielec after heading in from a corner, and went on to make his Poland Under-19 debut against Slovenia in September 2025.

His rapid rise saw him linked with several major European clubs before he settled on a move to Galicia, and Deportivo's long-term contract underlines their intention to build the squad around him for years to come.

At just 19, Deportivo's new signing arrives as a bet on both the present and, above all, the future, with plenty of room to grow and the potential to compete at the highest level in the seasons to come.

He had also attracted interest from clubs including AS Roma before opting for a move to Spain, with Deportivo convincing him with their sporting project after securing an immediate return to the Spanish top flight following promotion last season.
