Schalke sporting director Frank Baumann has given Miron Muslic his backing, insisting there will be no discussions about the head coach's future in the coming months.

The Gelsenkirchen club have struggled for consistency this season, with their attacking performances particularly disappointing. However, Baumann remains convinced that Muslic is the right person to lead the team forward.

"To make it absolutely clear: there will be no discussions about Miron in the coming weeks and months. We have conviction and confidence that we will improve together," Baumann told Sport Bild.

The public show of support comes at a difficult time for Schalke, who have been struggling to find goals and results. Their performances in the final third have been a particular concern, leaving the club looking towards the January transfer window for possible solutions.

Baumann has not ruled out strengthening the squad during the winter, although he made clear that any recruitment would have to meet the club's financial requirements.

"Our confidence in our squad is great. But if we are convinced in the winter that a player can help us and is affordable, we will find a solution, as we have in every previous transfer window," he said.

The sporting director's comments suggest Schalke are prepared to give Muslic time to address the team's problems rather than react to their difficult start.

The club will nevertheless need to improve their attacking output if they are to achieve their objectives this season. Baumann's backing provides the head coach with reassurance that the board remain committed to their current direction, while the possibility of January reinforcements offers another potential route to improvement.
