Armand Laurienté remains a transfer target for clubs in England and Italy, but Sassuolo are reluctant to sell the winger during the January window.

The Frenchman has been one of the club’s most closely watched players over several transfer windows, and Sassuolo’s difficult start to the season has not changed his standing in the market.

Laurienté signed a contract extension in May that runs until 2029, strengthening the Italian club’s negotiating position. Sassuolo do not need to sell and are understood to value the 28-year-old at a minimum of €25million.

Interest from the Premier League was particularly strong during the summer, when Ipswich Town explored a possible deal. Turkish clubs Fenerbahce, Besiktas and Trabzonspor also made approaches, but none of the proposals met Sassuolo’s valuation.

A move to England had come close to materialising previously. Sunderland pursued Laurienté during the summer of 2025, only for the proposed transfer to collapse in the final stages.

The winger’s situation is also being followed in Italy. Napoli included him on their list of potential targets during the previous winter transfer window and could consider revisiting their interest.

For now, Sassuolo’s public position is that they do not intend to sell players during the January market. Sporting director Francesco Palmieri has made that stance clear in recent weeks, although the club will inevitably face renewed attention as the transfer window approaches.

Laurienté’s contract gives Sassuolo control over his future, while his previous interest from England and Turkey suggests there could be competition if the club were to reconsider their position.

A significant offer may be required to change their stance, but the Frenchman is likely to remain a name to watch when the market reopens.
