The Balearic defender spent last season on loan at the Cantabrian club from Espanyol, playing a key role as Racing secured promotion back to the top flight, and returns to El Sardinero having fallen outside Manolo González's plans in Barcelona.
Racing Santander have moved quickly to strengthen their defensive options, completing deals for both Ramón and fellow centre-back Pedro Felipe within 24 hours of each other; the pair will compete for a starting berth alongside Facu González and Manu Hernando, with the club's technical secretary not ruling out the signing of a fifth centre-back before the summer window closes.
Ramón, a Calvià native born on 30 June 2001, progressed through Mallorca's youth ranks and made his senior bow for the first team in a 2018 Copa del Rey tie against Real Valladolid. A move to Real Madrid followed, where UEFA Youth League football with the junior side gave way to first-team football with the reserves; between 2020 and 2023 he made 17 appearances in Segunda División B and a further 47 in Primera Federación.
Loaned to Mirandés by Real Madrid for the 2023/24 season, he made 35 Segunda División appearances there before suffering a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury in April 2024; he signed for Espanyol on a free transfer in January 2025 while completing his recovery, before a loan move to Racing last season saw him play a part in the Cantabrian club's promotion back to the top flight, featuring in 27 league games.
Ramón, who stands at 1.85m and weighs 79kg, has represented Spain at Under-18 and Under-19 level, winning 11 caps. His return to Racing comes after a brief and largely uneventful spell in Barcelona, where he arrived from Real Madrid in January 2025 on a free transfer that saw the Madrid club retain 50 per cent of a future sale, but never made a competitive first-team appearance for Espanyol.
He had signed for the Catalan side while completing his recovery from the cruciate ligament injury, and by the time he was fit again the loan move to Santander had already been agreed for the following season.
Racing's technical staff and squad are already familiar to him from his year on loan, a factor the club believes will help him settle back in immediately as they prepare for a first campaign in the Spanish top flight since their promotion last season.
