"Getafe CF would like to thank Coba da Costa for his professionalism, hard work and commitment during his time at the club, and wishes him the very best in his next professional challenges," the club said in a statement.
Da Costa made 39 appearances in LaLiga and the Copa del Rey during a year and a half in Getafe's first team, having rapidly progressed from the third-tier Conquense via the club's reserve side.
He joined Getafe in the summer of 2024, initially assigned to the B team, before his performances caught the attention of head coach Jose Bordalas, who began to include him in first-team plans. He split his debut season between the reserves and the senior side, then established himself fully in the first team during his second year, before a loan move to Belgian club Anderlecht in the January window saw him finish the campaign in Belgium.
Da Costa's exit is the latest in a busy summer of squad turnover at the Coliseum, following the departures of Luis Milla to Como and Mauro Arambarri to River Plate. Getafe have already brought in Ramon Terrats from Villarreal on a permanent deal this summer, along with several returning loan players including Mario Martin, Martin Boselli, Zaid Romero and Martin Satriano, as the club continues to reshape its squad for the new season.
Born in La Mojonera and eligible to represent both Spain and Guinea-Bissau, Da Costa leaves with three years still remaining on his previous contract, underlining how quickly his stock had risen since breaking into senior football.
His departure for the Saudi Pro League continues a trend of Spanish clubs cashing in on emerging talent as Gulf sides look to strengthen their wide options, with the modest fee reflecting his relatively short track record at the highest level.
