Fulham ready €20m opening bid for Parma's Argentine centre-back Troilo

Fulham are set to make a €20 million opening offer for Parma centre-back Mariano Troilo, the 22-year-old Argentine who has become one of Serie A's most impressive defenders in the second half of the season.

Parma will reject that offer. The club values Troilo at a higher figure and are in no rush to sell a player they regard as an asset in ascent.

Troilo joined the Italian side from Club Atlético Belgrano in August 2025 for approximately €7.2 million, a fee that made him one of the most expensive outgoing transfers in Belgrano's history. He signed a five-year contract until June 2030 and is under no contractual pressure. The deal included a 20 per cent sell-on clause for Belgrano.

The 6ft 4in defender made a slow start to his Serie A career. Head coach Carlos Cuesta used him sparingly in the opening months, and there was a period in which his future at the club was being discussed in Italian media. The situation changed significantly in January.

From the start of 2026, Troilo began 15 matches for Parma. He scored a significant goal away at AC Milan in March, held his own in back-to-back starts against Inter Milan and Napoli, and finished the season as the automatic choice at centre-back. It was a turnaround substantial enough to attract attention from clubs across Europe.

Parma have no intention of selling in the face of a below-valuation opening offer. Their stance, as reported by ParmaLive, is that any sale will happen at their price — not Fulham's.

Whether the London club is prepared to raise their bid into a range that makes Parma reconsider is now the question. Fulham have the financial standing to increase an offer if the market dictates it, and Troilo's profile — young, physically commanding, proven against elite Serie A opposition in his debut European season — fits the kind of defender that Premier League clubs are paying premium fees for.

He is not moving this summer at €20 million. The negotiation, however, has started.
