Kevin Hofland says Matthijs de Ligt's game at Manchester United is being held back by manager Ruben Amorim's tactical system.
Former Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven defender Hofland insists De Ligt's game doesn't suit Amorim's back three system and he would be better served if he played alongside another centre-half in a central defensive pairing.
However, Hofland also is adamant that De Ligt can handle the demands of the Premier League and believes he can get even better - if he is played in a system that makes the most of his strengths.
