The 46-year-old Englishman joins on a permanent basis having initially been drafted in for the closing weeks of last season, filling a specialist post that only came into existence after Moyes's return to the club in January 2025.
Former Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam had held the role first, appointed shortly after Moyes took charge, but his exit at the end of that campaign left the position vacant for several months until Reddington's arrival, with Everton's official website confirming the permanent appointment on Saturday.
Reddington arrives at Goodison Park having most recently worked with League Two side AFC Wimbledon, a role he took up in the summer of 2024 after three years with Danish club Aarhus, where he served as assistant manager between 2021 and 2024, helping the club to a top-six finish in the Superliga.
His coaching background also includes an earlier and lengthier spell at Crystal Palace, where he progressed through the club's academy setup, coaching age groups from Under-13 to Under-16 level, before becoming first-team coach in 2018 and later assistant manager, working under Roy Hodgson among others across eight seasons at Selhurst Park.
The appointment reflects a broader shift across the Premier League towards specialist coaching roles focused on dead-ball situations, an area that has become an increasingly significant source of goals in recent seasons, with several rivals having made similar hires in recent years.
Everton, who have also added Denmark international Christian Nørgaard to their squad this summer as they look to build on last season's improved form under Moyes, begin their Premier League campaign at home to Crystal Palace on 22 August, giving Reddington an immediate reunion with his former club as he starts life in his new role on Merseyside.
