Comolli hails Spalletti as the right man to lead Juventus forward

Juventus chief executive Damien Comolli has spoken of the club's delight at securing Luciano Spalletti on a new two-year contract, saying the coach's values and ambitions align perfectly with what the club stands for.

Speaking on the club's official channels following Friday's announcement that Spalletti will remain at the Allianz Stadium until June 2028, Comolli was effusive in his praise for the Tuscan coach.

"We are very pleased to have extended Luciano's contract," he said. "Since he joined our great Juventus family, he has had an immediate and very positive impact on our players, on the whole club and on the entire Bianconeri community."

He left no doubt about the conviction behind the decision.

"It was immediately clear to everyone that Luciano was the right person to lead the team on a path of growth."

Comolli then addressed what makes Spalletti the right fit for this particular club at this particular moment.

"His ambitious style of play reflects the expectations of our fans and the club, and his values represent our identity."

He explained why the club moved to extend beyond the original short-term arrangement.

"We therefore decided to continue working together beyond the previously agreed contract term, because we believe that stability and continuity are two essential pillars for future success."

He signed off simply: "Good luck, Mister. Fino alla Fine."

Spalletti arrived at Juventus in late October 2025 on a deal to the end of the current season, replacing the dismissed Igor Tudor. The club has won 17 of 31 matches under his guidance and sits fifth in Serie A, fighting for a Champions League place with seven games remaining.

The decision to extend was reportedly accelerated by a dominant 3-0 win at Sassuolo in January, after which chairman John Elkann spoke personally with Spalletti. The new deal is reported to be worth up to โ‚ฌ6 million per season.

For Comolli, the message is simple. Spalletti is not a short-term solution. He is the foundation of what comes next.
