The German coach addressed supporters in both English and Catalan during the traditional curtain-raiser, thanking them for their support and expressing confidence in a squad still being assembled for the 2026-27 campaign.
"This season we have an incredible team thanks to Deco and the president. We're prepared to fight for everything. We work hard every single day," Flick told the crowd, crediting the sporting director and club presidency for the work done to build his squad.
He then turned directly to the stands, asking for the same backing throughout the coming season that has characterised his time at the club so far.
"We need your support and energy, because together we're stronger," he said, a line met with a loud ovation from the Barcelona faithful.
Much of Flick's address focused on the bond he has built with supporters since taking charge, and he opened by recalling one of the most difficult moments of last season: the death of his father, and the support he received from the club in its aftermath.
"Last year I lost my father, but the support I received from the whole Barça family was incredible. For me and my family it was incredible. From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much," he said, visibly moved.
Flick closed his remarks with one of Barcelona's most traditional rallying cries — "Visca el Barça i Visca Catalunya" — a line that once again lifted the crowd and brought his address to a close.
