The highly-rated midfielder will join the north London club after turning 18 in January, having agreed a transfer in October 2025. The deal is understood to be worth around £1.7million and was described by Shamrock Rovers as a landmark transfer for Irish football.
Ozhianvuna has been with the Dublin club since the age of six and made 37 senior appearances before his departure. He also became the second-youngest player to feature in the UEFA Conference League, underlining the reputation he has built as one of the most promising young players in the country.
The Republic of Ireland youth international, who supports Arsenal, has now reflected on his time at Shamrock Rovers in a message posted on social media.
“After 11 amazing years, I’m saying goodbye to the club where I’ve made memories that I’ll never forget,” he wrote.
“I’ve met a lot of amazing people at the club and I’ve learned so much over the years as a footballer, but more importantly as a person and for that I’m forever grateful.
“I’d like to thank my coaches, my teammates and my friends and family for all the help over the years. I’d also like to thank the supporters for the constant love and support they’ve shown to me and to the club.”
Ozhianvuna also revealed that an injury had made the closing months of his Shamrock Rovers career difficult. He has not played since May because of a back problem, but was able to finish his time at the club with a league title.
“The last few months have been difficult with an injury and I’m gutted to have not been able to play, but I couldn’t have asked for a better way to sign off than winning the league and lifting the trophy in front of the fans,” he added.
His farewell followed a presentation with Shamrock Rovers director of football Ronan Finn and youth coach Tony Cousins.
Ozhianvuna will not be involved in this month’s Under-17 World Cup, having represented his country at the tournament in Qatar last year. His attention will instead turn to the next stage of his career in England.
“As I move on to the next stage in my career, I’ll never forget the club that gave me a chance and I’m proud to say I’ve played for The Hoops. Forever grateful, Forever a Hoop.”
