Roma could sell Matías Soulé for €35-40m to fund a Mason Greenwood deal, with Dortmund leading the race.

Soulé's agent, Martín Guastadisegno, visited Roma's Trigoria training complex on Thursday morning to discuss the 23-year-old's future, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

AS Roma have not officially placed Soulé on their list of departures, and nobody at the club regards him as completely available — but in the face of a significant offer, the door would not be closed.

Borussia Dortmund have overtaken Aston Villa as the most serious suitor, according to multiple Italian sources, with Bournemouth also continuing to monitor the situation.

Roma value Soulé, who joined from Juventus two years ago for around €29 million, at between €35 and €40 million — a sale that would represent a profit of approximately €20 million and would meaningfully assist the club's settlement agreement obligations with UEFA ahead of the June 30 deadline.

Soulé himself is understood to be open to leaving. Under Gian Piero Gasperini, his playing time would likely remain restricted by the continued presence of Paulo Dybala and the coach's stated desire to bring in two new starting wide forwards — one of whom is Mason Greenwood.

At 23 and pushing for a regular place in Argentina's squad, continuity and minutes are Soulé's priority, and Roma's financial requirements align neatly with that ambition.

Separately,

Roma's summer hinges on selling to buy. Inter's hinges on which of two midfielders says yes first. Both stories will move quickly once the World Cup's group stage clears space in the football conversation again.
