France are monitoring Monza midfielder Manga Foe Ondoa for a potential Under-21 call-up after the 20-year-old established himself in the Italian club's first-team squad.

According to Sky Sport, the French national team are following the progress of the midfielder, who has made eight Serie A appearances this season and provided one assist.

Born in Paris on 12 December 2005, Ondoa is eligible to represent France and also holds Cameroonian citizenship, giving him an international decision to consider as his career develops.

His growing involvement at Monza has attracted attention after a relatively slow start to the campaign. He has subsequently earned the confidence of head coach Ivan Jurić and become one of several young players making an impression at the club.

Ondoa has started six of his eight league appearances, accumulating 526 minutes of football and registering an assist. His performances have provided evidence of the progress he has made since arriving in Italy.

Monza signed the midfielder from Portuguese side Estoril Praia in June 2026, handing him a contract running until June 2030.

The move followed an interesting development period in Portugal. Ondoa had initially joined Estoril in 2024, spending time with their Under-23 side before moving on loan to Oliveirense for the 2025-26 campaign.

He made 30 appearances and scored three goals in Portugal's second division during that spell, gaining valuable senior experience before returning to Estoril.

His earlier development came in France, where he progressed through Valenciennes' youth system and made his professional debut during the 2023-24 season, recording 15 appearances in Ligue 2.

Monza described him as a midfielder possessing considerable strength and dynamism when announcing his arrival, qualities which have helped him adapt to the demands of Italian football.

France's interest represents another encouraging development for the youngster, although monitoring does not yet mean a formal international selection is imminent.

Monza have already seen other players attract international attention this season. Kouadio has received recognition from Italy, while Portuguese scouts have also been following Gustavo Varela.

For Ondoa, the immediate objective is to continue establishing himself in Jurić's side. Regular first-team football will strengthen his case for international recognition, whether with France or Cameroon, as he looks to build on an increasingly promising start to life in Serie A.
