Napoli are monitoring Lucas Bergvall’s situation at Tottenham, with the Swedish midfielder attracting interest in Italy amid limited opportunities under Roberto De Zerbi.

The 20-year-old was linked with a move away from north London during the summer, when several Italian clubs were reportedly considering an approach. Bergvall ultimately remained at Spurs, but his lack of regular Premier League minutes has kept speculation about his future alive.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Napoli are among the clubs assessing the Sweden international as they consider their midfield options for the future.

The Italian side could face significant changes in the department next summer. André-Frank Zambo Anguissa's contract runs until 2027, while Stanislav Lobotka's future is also uncertain amid the lack of a new agreement. There are further question marks over Kevin De Bruyne's longer-term position.

Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna is therefore examining potential additions, with Bergvall viewed as one of the profiles who could help reshape the midfield.

The report suggests the interest remains at an early stage rather than representing an advanced transfer operation. Napoli are also monitoring other young midfielders, including Boca Juniors' Tomás Aranda and Alessandro Romano of Cagliari.

Bergvall's situation is particularly interesting because he was already the subject of significant transfer speculation before the current campaign. He attracted interest from several clubs but stayed at Tottenham, where he signed a new contract in September committing his future until 2031.

That agreement strengthens Spurs' negotiating position, and the club are not currently reported to be keen on losing the midfielder.

However, the Swedish international has struggled to secure consistent opportunities. With fewer than 150 minutes of Premier League football this season, a move that offered a clearer route into the starting team could become attractive if his circumstances do not improve.

Napoli could offer that opportunity as they prepare for a possible midfield rebuild. The prospect of playing alongside Scott McTominay may also appeal, although any move would depend on Tottenham's willingness to negotiate and the financial terms involved.

For now, Napoli's interest is best regarded as monitoring rather than a concrete bid. Bergvall remains under a long-term contract in London, but the lack of regular football is likely to keep his future under discussion as the next transfer windows approach.
