Gilberto Mora has sought to play down speculation surrounding his future after being linked with a move to Europe, with Liverpool and Arsenal among the clubs reportedly interested in the Tijuana midfielder.

The Mexican talent has attracted attention from several major sides, and the possibility of a move abroad has become a major talking point since he turned 18 earlier this month.

Mora was asked about the rumours in an interview with AS and made clear that he is concentrating on his performances for Tijuana rather than becoming distracted by transfer speculation.

“I feel calm. The truth is that I am focused on Xolos at the moment, and I leave that work to my representative. She is the expert in that, so I am here and I will continue showing my football match by match, training session by training session, day by day, and hopefully it happens, God willing,” he said.

His representative, Rafaela Pimenta, is therefore handling the interest while Mora concentrates on his football in Mexico.

Liverpool have been linked with the attacking midfielder in recent reports, with the Premier League club said to be among the teams following his progress. Arsenal have also emerged as a potential destination, adding another major English club to the list of interested parties.

The speculation has intensified as Mora’s performances have continued to attract attention beyond Mexico. His technical ability and attacking influence have made him one of the most closely watched young players in the country.

However, there is no confirmed agreement with either Liverpool or Arsenal, and Tijuana remain in control of the situation. Mora signed a new contract with the club earlier this year, reportedly keeping him tied to the Mexican side until 2029.

The player’s comments also reflect a desire to avoid allowing transfer discussions to affect his development. Rather than becoming involved in negotiations, he has left those matters to Pimenta while maintaining his commitment to Tijuana.

For Liverpool and Arsenal, any potential move would depend on reaching an agreement with the Mexican club and the player’s representatives. The reported interest has not yet developed into a confirmed transfer.

Mora, meanwhile, has made his position clear. He is aware of the attention surrounding him, but his immediate priority is to keep improving with Xolos and let his performances determine what comes next.
