Liverpool and Arsenal are monitoring Borussia Dortmund youngster Mathis Albert, with the 17-year-old attracting growing interest from the Premier League.

According to Bild, the two English clubs are tracking the American-born winger as they assess the possibility of signing one of Dortmund’s most promising young players. Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with the teenager, whose future is becoming an issue for the Bundesliga club.

Albert’s contract at Dortmund runs until June 2027, giving the club a limited period to secure his longer-term future. Dortmund are keen to retain him and are understood to be working behind the scenes on a new agreement.

The winger is regarded as a significant prospect, but his current involvement with the first team remains limited. He has made two senior appearances this season, totalling 110 minutes, without registering a goal or an assist.

Albert is due to turn 18 in May 2027, when Dortmund are reportedly hoping to offer him a long-term contract. That timing could be important, with the club keen to prevent interest from abroad developing into a serious transfer threat.

Liverpool and Arsenal are said to view the teenager as an opportunity for the future rather than an immediate first-team solution. Their reported interest reflects the growing attention around his development, although no offer has been made to Dortmund.

Manchester City are also monitoring Albert, with reports suggesting their interest has increased in recent weeks. Dortmund are said to remain calm about the approaches, partly because they still have time to negotiate a new deal.

The German club’s priority will be to convince Albert that his development is best served by remaining at the Westfalenstadion. With several major European sides keeping track of his situation, however, the contract discussions could become increasingly important over the coming months.

For now, the teenager remains a Dortmund player and there is no indication that a transfer is imminent. Liverpool and Arsenal are among the clubs watching his progress as the next stage of his career approaches. Dortmund will want to keep him at the club.
