Everton join race for Vitor Roque as Palmeiras demand €50m

Everton have joined the clubs monitoring Vitor Roque, but Palmeiras are insisting on a minimum €50million before they will discuss a transfer.

The Premier League side are considering a move for the Palmeiras striker in 2027, according to Brazilian journalist Diego Firmino, although no formal offer has been made.

Roque has previously attracted interest from Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham, but none of those clubs progressed their enquiries into a transfer. Everton are now the latest English club to be linked with the 21-year-old, whose situation has changed since he first emerged as a target in Europe.

Palmeiras are nevertheless maintaining a firm position on his valuation. The Brazilian club will not open negotiations for less than €50million, equivalent to around £44million.

That demand reflects the significant investment Palmeiras made to bring Roque back to Brazil. They paid Barcelona €25.5million, plus potential bonuses, for 80 per cent of his economic rights, with the Spanish club retaining the remaining 20 per cent.

Roque joined Palmeiras in February 2025 after his spell at Barcelona, and his contract with the Brazilian side runs until December 2029. That long agreement leaves Palmeiras under no immediate pressure to sell.

His performances have also been more inconsistent this year, with injuries and a reduction in playing time interrupting the momentum he had built after returning to Brazil.

Everton are understood to be looking at the possibility of bringing him to England in 2027, but the financial demands could prove a significant obstacle. The club would need to decide whether to meet Palmeiras' valuation before any serious negotiations could take place.

For now, the interest remains at an exploratory stage. Palmeiras have made their position clear, and any club hoping to sign Roque will have to consider a deal worth at least €50million.
