The 18-year-old has attracted fresh attention after Newcastle scouts watched him during Valencia’s 2-2 draw with Racing Santander. Otorbi came off the bench, scored his first senior goal for Valencia and threatened again late on, strengthening interest.
His representative, Nacho Gallart, confirmed that several clubs have made contact in recent weeks, with England a particular source of interest.
“He is a boy who has a lot of market and always has. In recent weeks, quite a few clubs have called us,” Gallart told Radio MARCA Valencia.
“It is true that many clubs have called us, especially from the Premier League.”
Despite the attention, Gallart said the player’s camp is not looking to accelerate a move away from Mestalla. Otorbi’s immediate objective is to establish himself in Valencia’s first team and continue learning under the coaching staff.
“We are very happy in Valencia and, for now, our only objective is to keep learning, keep contributing and help the team if the manager considers it appropriate,” he said.
Otorbi’s recent impact has renewed interest in a player who made his first-team debut at a very young age but subsequently had a period with fewer opportunities. His pace, ability to beat defenders one-on-one and willingness to change the tempo from the bench have helped bring him back into the spotlight.
Gallart believes the teenager’s development should continue gradually rather than be rushed by outside attention.
“We want it to be slow; we believe that is what is necessary and we do not want to rush,” he said.
Valencia have a degree of contractual protection. Otorbi signed a new deal in April that runs until June 2028, and Gallart revealed that the agreement contains an automatic extension clause. If the winger reaches ten appearances in which he plays at least 45 minutes, his contract will be extended to 2031.
Newcastle United have not made a formal offer, and there is no indication that Valencia are preparing to sell. The club can instead focus on giving Otorbi opportunities to develop, while interest from England underlines the growing profile of one of its emerging young players.
