Real Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini has left the door open to selling Ez Abde this summer if a large offer arrives, acknowledging that financial realities will ultimately shape their recruitment for next season's Champions League campaign.

Pellegrini made the comments after Betis's 2-1 victory over Levante UD on the final day of LaLiga, a result that confirmed a historic fifth-place finish — their best in over 20 years — and Champions League qualification for the first time since the 2004-05 season.

"If there is a really important and very high offer for any player, we will see," the Chilean manager said. "Economic reality is what will tell us the squad we can have."

Abde, 24, has been Betis's standout performer this season with 15 goals and 13 assists across all competitions. He scored his 10th LaLiga goal of the season in the final match, the best individual campaign of his career. He is contracted until 2029.

Newcastle United are understood to have the most concrete interest among Premier League clubs and are exploring a bid of around €40 million. Aston Villa are also closely monitoring his situation. Barcelona, who sold Abde to Betis in 2023 for €7.5 million, retain 20 per cent of any future sale — a clause worth approximately €8 million at Newcastle's reported valuation.

The complication for any potential buyer is the World Cup. Abde is in Morocco's squad for the tournament in North America, meaning any formal negotiations are unlikely to progress significantly before July. Betis are aware that a strong tournament showing could increase his market value further.

His official release clause is reported at €60 million, though Betis would consider offers below that figure from the right club. Champions League football at the Benito Villamarín next season strengthens their hand considerably if Abde himself is inclined to stay.
