Casemiro is set to be confirmed as an Inter Miami signing after Fabrizio Romano reported a verbal agreement was reached, ending his four-year spell at Manchester United following a decorated career at Real Madrid.

Casemiro is set to be unveiled as an Inter Miami player shortly, with the MLS club have finalised the signing of the 34-year-old Brazilian.

Lionel Messi's club had emerged as the leading destination for the defensive midfielder in recent weeks, and a full verbal agreement between all parties has now been reached. Only a signature and the formal announcement remain outstanding.

The move brings an end to Casemiro's four-year spell at Manchester United, where he arrived from Real Madrid in 2022 for an initial ยฃ60m. He won the FA Cup and League Cup during his time at Old Trafford, adding to an already substantial trophy haul built during nine years at the Bernabeu, where he won five Champions League titles and three LaLiga crowns.

Casemiro is currently in North America with Brazil for the World Cup, where the Selecao beat Haiti 3-0 in their second group match on Friday night.

His departure from Manchester United closes a chapter that began with high expectations following his decorated career in Spain, and ends with the 34-year-old set to embark on a new stage of his career in MLS alongside some of the league's biggest names at a club already built around Messi's presence in Florida.

Casemiro previously described his final season at Old Trafford as one of the most satisfying of his career, having fought his way back into the team after a difficult run under previous management. His leadership and experience were repeatedly cited as valuable qualities in United's dressing room, even as his game time fluctuated across his four years in Manchester.

A move to Inter Miami would reunite Casemiro with several familiar faces from his time in elite European football, joining a club that has increasingly attracted high-profile veterans in the latter stages of their careers since Messi's own arrival in the league.
