The Reds departed for their training base in Chicago from John Lennon Airport on Monday afternoon, naming an initial 31-player squad for a tour of the USA that will take in games against Sunderland, Wrexham and Leeds United across three states over the next fortnight, before the squad returns to Merseyside at the start of August.
The travelling party includes a handful of players continuing their injury rehabilitation programmes alongside the club's medical team, with further senior players due to join later in the tour once their World Cup commitments have concluded.

Alongside the squad announcement, Liverpool confirmed the appointment of Alejandro Rosalen as the club's new first-team goalkeeping coach, joining Iraola's backroom staff as a replacement for Xavi Valero, who has left the club after a second spell on Merseyside in 2025-26.
The 49-year-old Spaniard arrives with considerable pedigree, having spent his most recent posting at Napoli between 2021 and this summer, a period in which the Serie A side won the Scudetto twice, in 2022-23 and 2024-25. He had previously spent eight years at Fiorentina in Italy, a stint that followed a single season at Hungarian club Videoton, with his coaching career originally beginning in Valencia's academy, where he spent eight years developing his craft before moving abroad.
Rosalen's arrival fills a vacancy that had opened up following Valero's exit, giving Iraola a settled goalkeeping department heading into the new season.
He is expected to work closely with Liverpool's senior goalkeepers as the club continues its preparations in the United States, with the trip to Chicago, and the fixtures that follow against Sunderland, Wrexham and Leeds United, offering an early opportunity to assess his methods with the group before the Premier League campaign gets underway next month.
