Hugo Larsson has hit back at reports linking him with a summer exit from Eintracht Frankfurt, calling the transfer speculation a major misunderstanding and insisting he has no intention of leaving.

The 21-year-old Swedish midfielder has been the subject of persistent interest from clubs across Europe, with Arsenal, Liverpool and others credited with admiring glances in recent months. Reports in Germany suggested Larsson was open to moving on and that a fee of around €40 million could get a deal done.

Speaking in an interview with the club, Larsson was direct.

"This topic is a major misunderstanding in what I read. I'm totally satisfied with my situation at Eintracht Frankfurt. The club and I underlined this last year when we extended my contract very early and long-term."

He went further, laying out exactly where he sees his future.

"I plan to stay in Frankfurt not just for a short time, but for a long time. Because I am very happy in the club and in the city and I identify very much with the people."

Larsson also explained why Frankfurt remains the right environment for his development.

"In addition, I still feel that I can develop here in order to continue to mature every day, both athletically and personally."

He made clear the reports had not been welcome reading.

"Reading the reports mentioned was no fun for me because they were not true. Maybe that's just part of the reality of football."

Larsson joined Eintracht from Malmö in the summer of 2023 for €9 million and signed a contract extension last year that runs until 2029. He has no release clause in his deal, leaving Frankfurt in full control of any potential transfer.

This season has been a mixed one by his own high standards — one goal and two assists in the Bundesliga — with the Swede also battling recurring illness that he has since confirmed will require a tonsil operation in the summer.

The words are unambiguous. Frankfurt are not selling, and Larsson is not asking to leave.
