AC Milan could look to bring Timmo Hardung to San Siro alongside Markus Krösche, with Matteo Moretto revealing the Eintracht Frankfurt director remains a possibility.

The Rossoneri are continuing to reshape their sporting structure, with Krösche expected to become the club's new Head of Football despite previous denials from Milan.

Speaking on Fabrizio Romano's YouTube channel, Moretto provided an update on the potential appointments and suggested Krösche could attempt to bring his long-standing colleague with him to Italy.

"Despite the denials from Milan, Krösche will be the club's new Head of Football," Moretto said. "I also want to clarify the possible role of Timmo Hardung, sporting director of Eintracht Frankfurt."

Hardung has worked alongside Krösche for several years and is regarded as his right-hand man. Frankfurt have confirmed him within their existing management structure, but Moretto stressed that his future in Germany is not completely certain.

"The club in Frankfurt has confirmed him within the structure, but it is not 100 per cent certain that he will remain in Germany," the journalist explained.

Milan remain interested, with Krösche holding his colleague in particularly high regard and believing he is exceptionally well prepared for the sporting director role.

"Milan are still keeping an eye on him. Krösche rates him extremely highly and it cannot be ruled out that Milan could make an attempt for him in the coming weeks," Moretto added.

Hardung is not short of potential alternatives, with German clubs including Nuremberg and Hannover also understood to appreciate his work.

However, the possibility of reuniting with Krösche could prove attractive, particularly given the successful working relationship they developed at Frankfurt.

There are still organisational considerations for Milan. Krösche would need to integrate into an existing structure designed by owner Gerry Cardinale, meaning any additional appointments would have to fit the club's wider plans.

Moretto suggested that Hardung's arrival might not happen immediately, but insisted the possibility should not be dismissed.

"Krösche will have to fit into a structure that is already established, the one built and designed by Gerry Cardinale. However, I would not rule out Milan trying to bring Hardung in over the coming months if the opportunity arises."

For now, Hardung's future remains open, with Milan potentially looking to reunite two executives who know each other's methods and capabilities.
