Sancho remains without a club after Krasnodar rejected the opportunity to sign the former Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United winger.
According to Championat, the Russian Premier League leaders were offered the chance to bring Sancho to the club but decided against pursuing the move. The report states that there were no advanced negotiations between the two sides.
Sancho himself was reportedly prepared to consider a move to Russia, with the possibility of joining Krasnodar on a short-term basis having emerged late in the registration window.
That route has now closed, however, leaving the England international still searching for his next club.
The timing was particularly significant because Russian clubs could register free agents for the remainder of the first half of their domestic season only until Friday, meaning any move to Krasnodar would have needed to be completed quickly.
Sancho has been without an employer since leaving Manchester United at the beginning of July. His future had been a subject of speculation throughout the summer, with a return to Borussia Dortmund discussed but never developing into a concrete agreement.
The winger originally established himself at Dortmund after leaving Manchester City's academy, becoming one of the Bundesliga's leading young attacking players before Manchester United paid a reported £73 million for him in 2021.
His time at Old Trafford never reached the level anticipated by that transfer fee. Sancho subsequently returned to Dortmund on loan before spending the 2025-26 campaign away from Manchester United, leaving him to enter this season without a permanent club.
Krasnodar therefore represented a very different potential destination from the European clubs with which Sancho has previously been associated.
The Russian side, however, have now ruled out that option.
Championat reports that while Sancho was willing to make the journey to the Russian Premier League, the club did not want to proceed and the talks never reached an advanced stage.
That leaves the 26-year-old with his next decision still to make. A player who once attracted a major transfer fee after starring in Germany is now available without a club, with the Krasnodar approach ending without an agreement.
