Nottingham Forest remain confident of adding four more signings to their squad this summer despite a slow start to the transfer window, Glasner has said, as the club also had a €20m offer for Union Saint-Gilloise wing-back Khalaili rejected.
Austrian midfielder Xaver Schlager, who joined as a free agent after leaving RB Leipzig to reunite with Glasner following their time together at Wolfsburg, remains Forest's only signing of the summer so far, with the club still targeting another midfielder, a centre-back, a right-back and a striker.
Asked by talkSPORT whether he was anxious about the pace of business, Glasner played down any concern.
"I'm not anxious," he said. "I think the transfer market started slow in how many players have been traded so far. Of course there were a few big trades, like Elliot Anderson and a few other players.
"We are preparing some new signings. It's like always, you need four parties to agree; both clubs have to find the solution, the player and the agent as well. That's what we are trying to do, besides preparing for the season.
"I'm really looking forward and I'm very confident in the board that we will get the right players. We have already defined the profiles we are looking for and what we want to add - what we don't have probably in our squad yet. We identified our targets but there is some work to do to get the deals over the line."
One of those targets appears to be Khalaili, with Forest's offer of a guaranteed €17.5m plus a further €2.5m in performance and appearance-related bonuses and a small sell-on fee rejected by Union Saint-Gilloise, who value the 21-year-old wing-back much closer to the €28m package agreed by Inter Milan two weeks ago before that deal collapsed after Khalaili failed to receive the necessary medical clearance in Italy.
The Belgian champions, who signed Khalaili from Maccabi Haifa for around €6.5m in 2024 and watched him help end the club's 90-year domestic title drought before scoring three times in eight Champions League appearances last season, are expected to insist on a similar fee to the one Inter had agreed.
Bournemouth and Newcastle have also shown interest in the Israel international this summer, while Forest had previously been linked with Feyenoord's Givairo Read for the same right-back vacancy before being unable to agree a deal with the Dutch club.
