Gabriel Jesus says playing for Barcelona remains a dream, with the Brazilian forward delighted by the quality of his teammates and the confidence he has received from Hansi Flick.

Jesus spoke after Barcelona’s 3-0 victory over Getafe, in which he scored as the Catalan side maintained their winning run in LaLiga. He said the team’s style made his job easier because of the quality of the players around him and their ability to keep possession.

“Being at Barça is a dream, as I have already said,” Jesus explained. “Playing with these teammates is very easy. They play very well and you always have the ball at your feet. They make my job easier.”

The forward also praised Flick for the trust he has shown in the squad. Jesus said the manager gives players confidence and expects him to contribute goals whenever he comes onto the pitch.

“He gives all the players a lot of confidence,” Jesus said. “We are playing very well. When I come on, I have to score goals.”

Jesus has made a positive impression as he settles into Barcelona’s attacking system, with the Getafe performance providing another opportunity to demonstrate his finishing ability.

He acknowledged that he has previously played for teams capable of scoring regularly and believes Barcelona can continue producing goals at a high rate. His ambition is to help turn that attacking output into silverware at the end of the season.

“I have played for teams that have always scored a lot, and now that is happening again,” he said. “I hope to continue like this, winning matches and, at the end of the season, winning titles.”

Jesus also expressed his hope that Raphinha would recover quickly from his injury, stressing how important the Brazilian winger is to the team.

Barcelona’s victory over Getafe extended their winning start to the league campaign and reinforced the sense of momentum around Flick’s squad. The coach has repeatedly emphasised collective responsibility, with forwards expected to contribute both in possession and when the team is defending.

Jesus’s comments reflected that wider approach. He praised his teammates for making it easier to play and create chances, while recognising that his own responsibility is to convert opportunities when selected.

With Barcelona competing across multiple competitions, Jesus will hope his contribution against Getafe can help secure further opportunities in the weeks ahead.

His immediate focus, however, remains straightforward: maintain his form, help Barcelona continue winning and play his part in the club’s pursuit of trophies.
