José Bordalás has refused to discuss Getafe's reported interest in Dani Carvajal while warning his players that Lamine Yamal's quality will make Barcelona a formidable opponent.

“I understand your question perfectly and respect it, but I am not going to say anything about this subject because my mind is on tomorrow's match against Barcelona,” the Getafe coach said when asked about Carvajal.

The right-back has been linked with a possible move to Getafe, but Bordalás was determined to keep the focus on the trip to face Hansi Flick's side.

“Barcelona are one of the teams in the best form in the championship and even in Europe,” he said. “They have players in incredible form.

“Barcelona please me a lot with the ball, but I also like them a lot without the ball. In that respect, they are also the best team in LaLiga.”

Bordalás was equally impressed by the depth of Barcelona's squad, arguing that the team could make changes without losing its level.

“Barcelona have an incredible squad. They can double up in positions and you don't notice it, and we are seeing that,” he said. “In the starting eleven and with the changes during matches, the team never suffers when there are variations or substitutions.”

The Getafe coach also recognised the challenge posed by Yamal, although he stopped short of declaring the teenager the best player in the world.

“It will be very difficult to stop him, but we are going to try to play a great match, be very serious and play without any complexes,” Bordalás said.

“Lamine is a magnificent player, he is showing that, and he is very young. You cannot say whether he is the best in the world; there are great players. He has a very long career ahead of him. He could achieve it without doubt because of the potential he has.”

For Getafe to compete, Bordalás believes his players must remain focused and avoid costly mistakes.

“It is important that we understand the game, that we have all five senses focused for the 90 minutes. You cannot make serious errors or lose the ball in dangerous areas,” he said.

“If you make a mistake, Barcelona can make you pay dearly, as people say.”

Despite the challenge, Bordalás wants his team to travel with a positive mindset.

“My team always approaches matches knowing the difficulties, but also knowing what we have to do to get a good result. We try to have an ambitious, winning mentality.”

Bordalás also said Mauro Satriano could be available after training normally, although he did not want to give Barcelona any clues about his selection.

“I don't like giving clues, but hopefully we can count on him,” he said.
