Kusi-Asare, 18, joined Fulham on loan from Bayern last season after making only a single Bundesliga appearance in 2024-25. The loan included a purchase option, which Fulham chose not to trigger — but the west London club remained keen on keeping the forward and entered fresh negotiations with Bayern Munich over a reduced permanent fee.
Those talks have now concluded. Sky Germany reports agreement has been reached and that Kusi-Asare, who turned down approaches from several other Premier League clubs to remain at Craven Cottage, is expected to sign a multi-year contract.
Fulham's plan is a gradual one. The club see significant potential in the 18-year-old and intend to develop him steadily rather than push him into regular first-team action immediately. His refusal to entertain offers elsewhere reflects both his own comfort at the club and confidence in the project under new head coach Álvaro Arbeloa.
Kusi-Asare was born in Sweden and made four substitute appearances in Allsvenskan for AIK in 2023 before Bayern signed him in January 2024, identifying him as one of Scandinavia's most promising young strikers. At €6 million, the fee is low enough to carry minimal risk. If he develops as Fulham believe he can, the investment will look shrewd.
The signing also fits the broader direction Arbeloa is taking Fulham. The incoming head coach has built his reputation on identifying young talent and giving it the conditions and patience to develop, and Kusi-Asare is precisely the profile he has been brought to Craven Cottage to work with.
