Fulham's new manager Ălvaro Arbeloa is the driving force behind a double swoop on his old club, with Gonzalo GarcĂa Torres and CĂ©sar Palacios PĂ©rez both undergoing medicals ahead of permanent moves from Real Madrid, according to Sky Sports News.
Arbeloa worked with both players during his time in Madrid, first coaching Palacios in the academy before serving as a first-team assistant under JosĂ© Mourinho during GarcĂa's breakthrough campaign.
The two deals are together worth around ÂŁ42.3m, with GarcĂa commanding the larger fee of roughly ÂŁ34m, while Palacios is valued at around ÂŁ8.5m.
GarcĂa, 22, made 51 appearances for Real Madrid last season, scoring 13 goals including a hat-trick against Real Betis, and topped the scoring charts at last summer's Club World Cup before earning his senior Spain debut in June.
Palacios, 21, is a Spain youth international who progressed through Real Madrid's academy after joining from Numancia in 2020 and made his senior debut for the club in January. Real Madrid are understood to have retained sell-on clauses and buyback options on both players as part of the arrangement.
Arbeloa took charge at Craven Cottage this summer after a spell working under Xabi Alonso and Mourinho at the BernabĂ©u, and the double deal marks his first major imprint on the squad. Fulham lost attacking options at the start of the window, with Harry Wilson departing for Leeds United on a free transfer and RaĂșl JimĂ©nez rejoining former club Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Fulham have also sent a highly-rated academy forward out on loan, with 18-year-old Brodie Dair joining Scottish Championship side Queen of the South until the end of the season.
Dair, who is related to former Scotland and Rangers great Jim Baxter and represented Scotland at under-17 level, racked up 14 goal contributions in 23 Under-18 Premier League appearances for Fulham last season following his move from St Johnstone for an initial fee of over ÂŁ150,000 in February 2025. The loan is intended to give the teenager senior football experience north of the border.
