The 15-year-old centre-forward stands 1.92 metres tall and currently plays for Cadete A. He joined Madrid from Canillas in 2022 and has become one of the academy’s most prolific young scorers, prompting comparisons with Manchester City striker Erling Haaland because of his physical presence and finishing.
According to Marca, Madrid renewed López’s agreement in November 2025 amid interest from other clubs. The next significant milestone arrives in 2027, when he turns 16 and becomes eligible to sign his first professional contract.
His 148 goals have come across four age groups. López scored 30 in his first season with Alevín A in 2022-23, followed by 38 for Infantil B in 2023-24. His best return came in 2024-25, when he registered 43 goals for Infantil A, finishing as La Fábrica’s leading scorer as the team won the league.
He added another 37 goals with Cadete B last season and passed the 100-goal mark in March 2025 with a strike against Fuenlabrada.
His progress has continued internationally. López helped Spain win the Under-15 World Cup, scoring six goals during the tournament alongside fellow Madrid youngsters Alberto Ruiz and Adrián Bielsa. He has since moved into the Under-16 set-up, making his debut in September in two friendlies against Italy.
Madrid’s official academy profile confirms his progression from Alevín A to Cadete A. His development has not been based on goals alone: his height gives him a significant presence in the penalty area, but his technical ability, coordination and pace have also attracted attention.
López is comfortable receiving the ball and combining with team-mates, while his movement allows him to contribute beyond finishing chances. His aerial ability and powerful shooting make him a natural penalty-box threat, but his link-up play and awareness mean he is more than a target forward.
Madrid are carefully managing his progress, with several years of development still ahead before a first-team opportunity becomes a realistic target. The immediate challenge is to maintain his scoring record as he moves up the academy ladder.
