Garnacho joined Villa on a season-long loan from Chelsea during the summer, but has featured for only 31 minutes across three appearances so far, with academy graduate George Hemmings preferred in his position.
The Argentine was an unused substitute in Tuesday's 3-2 Champions League win at Club Brugge, yet head coach Unai Emery insists the winger's application in training points to better times ahead.
"First is positive - his attitude. His attitude is very important, he is getting the commitment we need to achieve it," Emery said ahead of Saturday's visit of Nottingham Forest.
Emery, who has started just three of his ten summer signings in the Premier League so far as he eases his new arrivals in gradually, said patience remained the key factor with Garnacho.
"Now he needs time. Time, hard work every day, and he is showing it with his attitude. Then, everything he is progressing," he said.
"Every training session we are doing, he is showing he can play matches. He played a few minutes, but it was not enough, firstly due to the minutes he played and the things he showed."
Garnacho made 144 appearances for Manchester United before a £40 million move to Chelsea last summer, where he managed 43 appearances and eight goals but never fully established himself under Enzo Maresca.
Aston Villa's move for the 22-year-old included a conditional obligation to buy that both clubs consider easily achievable, with the loan helping both sides manage their financial fair play positions following separate UEFA sanctions.
Emery, who has structured much of his summer rebuild around gradually integrating new faces such as Zion Suzuki, Joao Gomes and Nicolas Jackson, believes the process of building a settled team will take time regardless of individual talent.
"We are in two sides at the same time, being involved in a process," he said. "One is to compete in each competition. The Premier League is the priority. We must get our performance as soon as possible in the structure we have and with the players we have, knowing each other and how we want to perform."
