Pimpong's arrival comes on the same day that Rasmus Kristensen completed a return to his boyhood club Midtjylland after leaving Frankfurt, with the two moves understood to be connected.
The 18-year-old is the son of former Ghana international Razak Pimpong, who earned 10 caps for the Black Stars, represented his country at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, and spent the majority of his club career in Denmark — including six years and over 100 appearances at FC Midtjylland.
Malik follows a similar path to his father in choosing Danish football as his launching pad, but has already shown a finishing instinct that marks him out as one of the more exciting young forwards in the country.
Across two seasons with Midtjylland's under-19 side he made 46 appearances and scored 30 goals, seven of those coming in the UEFA Youth League.
Last season alone he scored 20 goals in 26 Danish U19 league games, earning him the Midtjylland U19 Player of the Year award and a place in the first team's Europa League matchday squads on two occasions.
He also trained with the Midtjylland senior squad during their winter camp, with academy manager Flemming Broe calling him "a great talent with a good athletic package" who "can score goals" and "has a good winning mentality."
Pimpong has represented Denmark at under-17, under-18 and under-19 level, scoring 12 goals across 24 international appearances.
Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Timmo Hardung acknowledged the step up in level will take time but expressed confidence in the environment the club can provide.
"Malik Pimpong brings a lot of talent and perspective as a young player," Hardung said. "We want to introduce him carefully to the level, promote his development in a targeted way and at the same time give him stability. We are convinced that he will find an environment here in which he can exploit his potential step by step."
