Hadj Moussa, 24, had a standout 2025-26 season in Rotterdam, scoring 14 goals and providing seven assists in 40 appearances across all competitions, with a number of strong performances in the Champions League among the highlights.
Born in Paris to Algerian parents, he came through the RC Lens academy before signing his first senior contract with Belgian side Olympic Charleroi in 2022. A move to Patro Eisden in the Challenger Pro League followed in 2023, and Feyenoord paid €3.5m to bring him to the Netherlands in 2024 — a fee that now looks like an extraordinary bargain.
He predominantly operates as an inside forward on the right flank, cutting onto his stronger left foot, and his low centre of gravity, quick acceleration and directness in one-on-one situations have made him one of the most effective wide players in the Eredivisie.
Hadj Moussa has represented Algeria at senior level, earning 17 caps and scoring twice, and is currently at the World Cup with the national side.
Saudi Arabian clubs have also registered interest in the winger, but Sky Sports report he prefers England, and Aston Villa and Newcastle United are the most advanced of the Premier League options.
Feyenoord are holding out for a minimum of €35m — a tenfold return on their original investment — and are under no obligation to sell, with the player's contract running until 2030.
For Newcastle, who have already missed out on Zadok Yohanna and Victor Muñoz to Brighton and Liverpool respectively, adding a wide forward of Hadj Moussa's calibre has become a priority after the departure of Anthony Gordon.
Aston Villa, meanwhile, are looking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of what they hope will be another European campaign.
