The Crystal Palace representative watched André set up Yuri Alberto for the opening goal in Corinthians' 3-0 win over Remo, with the Brazilian club's academy graduate very much the focus of the visit, reports ESPN Brazil.
There is still no official offer on Corinthians' desk, but the scouting mission signals Palace's interest has moved beyond routine background checks.
Palace now join Juventus in the running for André, with the Italian club having made initial contact with his camp in recent weeks as they assess a formal bid. Juventus are also considering a move for Bayern Munich midfielder João Palhinha, who spent last season on loan at Tottenham, as they weigh up their options in central midfield. AC Milan were also close to signing André earlier this year, though that deal collapsed before completion.
Corinthians have already set out their valuation, wanting €18 million guaranteed plus a further €4 million in bonuses for 80% of the player's economic rights. The ownership structure makes any deal more complex than usual: André owns 30% of his own economic rights, with Corinthians holding the remaining 70%.
In the event of a sale, the midfielder would transfer 10% back to the club while retaining 20% for himself, giving him a direct financial stake in any transfer.
With a contract running until December 2029 and a €100 million release clause, Corinthians are under no pressure to sell unless a club's offer comes close to their valuation, giving the Brazilian side a strong negotiating position as interest in one of their prized academy products continues to build.
André scored three league goals last season as Corinthians finished 10th in Brazil's top flight, and has become one of the club's most sought-after young players despite the team's modest league position. Corinthians are understood to be facing financial pressures of their own this window, including active transfer bans and outstanding image-rights payments, adding further incentive to consider a sale if Palace or Juventus return with an offer close to their asking price.
