Harpur joins Como's Primavera squad on a permanent deal after progressing through Bohemians' youth ranks, where he made his senior debut in the FAI Cup against Killester Donnycarney at just 15 years old in 2025.
Born in 2009, the forward went on to make five appearances for the Bohemians first team and has represented Ireland at Under-16 and Under-17 level.
"Como 1907 Primavera are delighted to announce the signing of Irish forward Josh Harpur, on a permanent deal from Bohemians," the club said in a statement confirming the move, adding a welcome message for the teenager as he begins life in Italian football.
Osian Roberts, Como's head of development, explained what persuaded the club to pursue the signing.
"We had the chance to watch Josh work and we were very impressed by what we saw. Josh is a young forward of great talent who can already count on the experience of having made his debut with a first team at a very young age. He has excellent physical qualities, pace, works hard for the team, is a real threat in the penalty area and loves to score goals.
"We believe this environment is perfect for continuing his development process and we can't wait to help him take the next step in his career," Roberts said.
Harpur expressed excitement at the move in his own comments following the announcement.
"I'm very happy to be here and to begin this experience. I'm ready to put myself at the service of the coach and the group to grow, and I can't wait to get started," he said.
The move comes as Como's first team prepare for a landmark occasion of their own, with the club set to make its Champions League debut against RB Leipzig, a fixture that has added extra attention to the club's broader recruitment activity across all levels this week.
