Camarda, born in 2008, was already contracted to the club until June 2028, but will extend that deal by three years, following a similar move recently completed by fellow youngster Christian Comotto. The renewal underlines Milan's determination to protect its academy talent before external interest grows too strong.
The striker's immediate role within the squad, however, is still to be decided. New head coach Ruben Amorim is using the pre-season camp to assess where Camarda might fit into his plans, with a final decision on his path for the season not expected until later in the window.
Two options remain on the table: staying with the first-team group to continue working closely with the coaching staff, or, more likely, a season-long loan that would give him greater continuity of game time. The contract extension will be signed before any decision on his short-term future is made.
Leao's situation carries a very different tone. For now, there are no offers on the table that AC Milan consider impossible to turn down, meaning the Portuguese winger will travel to pre-season with Amorim as the club looks to establish where his future lies. In recent weeks the possibility of Leao staying at Milan has resurfaced, despite previous comments in which he suggested he would welcome a fresh challenge elsewhere.
Milan's asking price is understood to be higher than previously thought, with the club looking for at least €60million and no willingness to consider a loan with an option to buy. Leao earns €6.5million plus bonuses, making him the squad's top earner, but his output over the past two seasons has fallen below expectations.
As a result, there is a sense at the club that few suitors will be willing to meet such a high valuation, even amid some genuine interest.
Fenerbahce and Galatasaray remain the two clubs most heavily linked, albeit to differing degrees. Galatasaray could move relatively quickly with an offer, with wages in the region of €9million net per season mentioned as part of any package, though it remains unclear whether that would appeal to Leao.
A late-window approach from Turkey cannot be ruled out either, given the Turkish transfer deadline falls later than in the rest of Europe.
