Rayan announced himself in European football in January after Bournemouth signed him from Vasco da Gama, where he had already built a reputation in Brazilian football before making the move.
Since arriving, the 20-year-old has scored five goals and added two assists in 15 appearances, form that helped fire the Cherries to their first-ever European qualification, securing a place in this season's Europa League, where they are considered among the contenders to lift the trophy.
His impact quickly caught the attention of bigger clubs, with Liverpool among those to have considered him as a potential long-term successor to Mohamed Salah given the similarities in playing style and the areas of the pitch both operate in.
Bournemouth, though, have taken a firm stance, rejecting any approach for the winger and making clear their intention to keep him for at least one more season.
That position will become considerably clearer from June 2027, when a release clause worth €150 million comes into effect, according to David Ornstein. Before that date, no exit fee has been formally set, meaning the south coast club have been able to demand extravagant sums for any club showing interest. Once the clause activates, any side willing to pay it will be able to sign him regardless of Bournemouth's wishes.
Ornstein reports that several Premier League clubs could move for Rayan in the January window regardless, though Bournemouth remain determined not to give in to any offer, however substantial, as they look to keep hold of him through the 2026-27 campaign. Rayan is contracted to the club until June 2031.
The structure of the deal gives Bournemouth financial certainty over the winger's long-term future while still allowing them to command a premium fee if they eventually decide to sell before the clause activates.
His rapid rise from relative obscurity in Brazilian football to being courted by some of the Premier League's biggest clubs within little more than a year illustrates the scale of the impact he has made since his move to the south coast, and explains why Bournemouth have been so reluctant to even entertain approaches despite the size of the offers reportedly on the table.
