Tresoldi delivered one of the most impressive breakthrough seasons in Belgian football this year, scoring 23 goals and contributing nine assists across all competitions as Brugge claimed their 20th Belgian Pro League title.
His combined record across 58 appearances for the club stands at 23 goals and nine assists — a return that has elevated him to one of the most coveted young forwards in European football.
The Germany Under-21 international came through Hannover 96's academy before moving to Brugge, where his development under head coach Ivan Leko accelerated sharply. Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann publicly revealed he had come close to including the striker in his World Cup squad, describing him as having a "special nose for goal." Tresoldi also holds dual eligibility for Italy and Spain through his parentage, with all three nations monitoring his international situation.
Atletico Madrid's interest is driven in part by the imminent departure of Antoine Griezmann, the 34-year-old France forward who is expected to leave the Metropolitano at the end of his contract, reports the Athletic. Tresoldi is considered capable of providing a younger, more dynamic attacking profile.
Club Brugge are under no pressure to sell — Tresoldi is contracted until June 2029 — and any deal is expected to require a fee of at least €30m. A January approach of approximately €15m was rejected earlier this season.
Borussia Dortmund's need is also pressing, with Karim Adeyemi's future uncertain and Serhou Guirassy being pursued by Fenerbahçe. Aston Villa, preparing for their second Champions League season, are looking to add a striker capable of contributing at the highest level.
