Alisson, 33, is entering the final year of his Liverpool contract and has been linked with a move to Juventus since late April, when transfer journalist Matteo Moretto reported that the two parties had reached an agreement in principle.
At the time, Juventus were still competing for a top-four Serie A finish that would have guaranteed Champions League football.
The situation has since shifted. A 1-0 defeat to Fiorentina in the penultimate round of league fixtures dropped Juventus out of the top four, leaving them in fifth place going into the final weekend. Champions League qualification now depends on Roma failing to win at Verona. Should that happen, Juventus would compete in the Europa League next season instead.
It had been assumed that such an outcome might undermine Alisson's willingness to join. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports otherwise. The Brazil international regards Spalletti highly from their time working together at AS Roma, where Alisson won the Italian Footballer of the Year award in 2017-18 and established himself as one of the world's leading goalkeepers.
The personal connection between player and coach has survived both their departures from the Italian capital and is understood to be a genuine pull factor toward the Bianconeri.
Tuttosport reports Alisson could be available for around โฌ15m given his contractual situation. Liverpool are not expected to stand in his way, with Giorgi Mamardashvili having been signed last summer as his designated successor, though the Georgian has yet to convince fully. Chelsea and Newcastle United have also been linked.
At 33, Alisson remains among the best goalkeepers in world football. He was included in Brazil's World Cup squad despite missing Liverpool's final ten matches through injury.
