Speaking at a press conference during Bayern's training camp, the South Korean centre-back made his position clear: "As a player, I am very happy to be at Bayern, and very satisfied.
"I have played a lot of matches and always given my best and left everything out there on the pitch. I hope that I get plenty of playing time from the coach this season and that I can stay at the club."
Kim finds himself among the club's potential departure candidates once again, sitting third in the pecking order at centre-back behind Dayot Upamecano, 27, and Jonathan Tah, 30.

He was signed by Bayern Munich from Napoli in 2023 having previously helped the Italian club win the Scudetto, and has since become accustomed to squad rotation rather than an automatic starting berth.
Bayern's hierarchy have previously stopped short of ruling out a sale altogether, though have indicated a departure is not part of their plans, with the club believed to value an offer of at least €26m before considering letting him leave, a figure that could rise depending on how the market develops as the window nears its close.
