Sagoe Jr has been on Arsenal's books since his youth career and joined Kalmar on loan for the remainder of the season in February.
The winger has since impressed in Allsvenskan, scoring one goal and providing seven assists in 12 league appearances, a return that has quickly established him as one of the most productive attacking players in the division and evidently caught AIK's attention.
Although getting him away from Kalmar before his loan expires is understood to be difficult, it is not being ruled out entirely, with Arsenal ultimately holding the final say over where he plays next given they retain his registration.
The England youth international has previous loan experience in English football, having spent time with both Shrewsbury Town and Swansea City before his move to Sweden. He has made one senior competitive appearance for Arsenal, coming during the 2023-24 season, but has largely developed his career away from the Emirates Stadium since then, with his time in Scandinavia now proving the most productive stretch of his career to date in terms of end product.
The chase comes with both Allsvenskan clubs occupying contrasting positions in the table. Kalmar sit 12th with 13 points after 12 rounds played, while AIK are ninth on 18 points, giving them a stronger platform from which to try to prise away one of the division's most eye-catching performers this season.
Should a deal materialise, it would represent a mid-season switch within the Swedish top flight for a player Arsenal will continue to monitor closely regardless of which club he turns out for over the coming months, with the north London club still weighing up his long-term prospects at Emirates Stadium.
