Crystal Palace defeated Shakhtar Donetsk 2-1 on the night and 5-2 on aggregate in the UEFA Conference League semi-final.
Midfielder Adam Wharton set the tone speaking to TNT Sports, describing an atmosphere inside the ground he had never previously experienced.
"It's amazing. This is the best Selhurst Park has been in my two years here. Unbelievable atmosphere and you can tell how much it means to south London. It's an incredible feeling. One I'll never forget."
Wharton connected the night to what this group has already achieved together.
"Everyone at the club wants to do well. First trophy in 120 years last year and we are trying to get another for the fans. You get goosebumps β it's incredible."
He was honest about how close the squad came to running out of steam across a stretched campaign.
"It's incredibly difficult with more games, a small squad. We were running thin in December and January but we grinded through it and the fans stuck with us. This is the reward we get."
Striker Jean-Philippe Mateta was direct and joyful in equal measure.
"I am very happy. Crystal Palace, we did it, we are in the final. We are focused on the final. We celebrate for the final β and after we will be focused. The party is only in the dressing room!"
Goalkeeper Dean Henderson drew a straight line from last season's FA Cup final victory to the hunger that has driven Palace through this European campaign.
"When you come in from a game like that last season, it gives you confidence and makes you hungry for the next thing. We've got an ambitious group of players β don't forget that."
Henderson was clear about what the squad now owes the club and its supporters.
"It's pretty incredible honestly to get into a European competition with Crystal Palace, never mind make the final. We've got to deliver something special. We need to get back what we deserve as well."
Palace face Rayo Vallecano in Leipzig on May 27. The players know what is expected of them there.
