Nine league goals for Sarr this season, up from eight the year before despite a heavier workload in 2024-25, capped a strong World Cup for the winger and appears to have hastened his departure from Selhurst Park.
Manchester United had been credited with interest earlier in the window, but Sarr always maintained the decision on his future sat with Palace rather than with him. That decision now looks close to being made: Tuttomercatoweb reports that Fenerbahce have abandoned their chase of Rafael Leão, whose camp remain unconvinced by the Istanbul project, and turned instead to Sarr, who is said to have given the move his blessing.
Negotiations over a fee are described as being in their final stages, with an announcement possible within hours, though neither club has put a number on the table publicly. Whatever Fenerbahce pay would represent a substantial profit for Crystal Palace, who signed the Senegal international for around €15m; his current deal at Selhurst Park runs to 2029.
Palace's business is not one-directional, though. Having lost both Marc Guéhi and Maxence Lacroix from central defence this year, manager Pierre Sage is left working with Jaydee Canvot, Chris Richards and Chadi Riad as his recognised options at the back, and has identified Fenerbahce's Jayden Oosterwolde as a fix.
Both Palace and AS Roma have told the Dutchman's representatives they intend to bid, according to reporting out of Turkey, with Sabah subsequently putting Roma's opening offer at around €20m. Fenerbahce, who signed Oosterwolde on a contract running to 2028, have their own incentive to sell: a Süper Lig cap of 14 foreign players in a squad makes trimming the roster a priority regardless of price.
His ability to play left-back as well as centre-back adds to the appeal for Sage, who would gain a defender able to slot into more than one role.
