The 24-year-old scored 43 goals and provided 45 assists in 108 appearances for the Belgian side, form that saw him voted Belgian Pro League Player of the Season in back-to-back campaigns and helped Club Brugge win the 2025 Belgian Cup before lifting the league title itself last season. He joins Arsenal following the departure of Belgium forward Leandro Trossard to Besiktas earlier this month.
Tzolis began his professional career at PAOK Thessaloniki, scoring 20 goals in 27 appearances for the club's Under-19 side before making his first-team debut against Olympiacos in June 2020 and winning the Greek Cup the following year. He then moved to Norwich City, making an instant impact with two goals and two assists on his Carabao Cup debut against Bournemouth in August 2021, before loan spells at FC Twente in the Netherlands and Fortuna Dusseldorf in Germany aided his continued development.
He joined Club Brugge in July 2024, quickly establishing himself as a key figure in a side that competed domestically and in the Champions League. Internationally, Tzolis has earned 34 caps for Greece since making his senior debut in October 2020.
Arsenal's sporting director Andrea Berta explained the thinking behind the deal.
"We're delighted to have completed the signing of Christos Tzolis. Christos is an extremely versatile attacking player who naturally operates on the left but is comfortable across the front line. He's an excellent finisher with both feet, thrives in tight spaces, and possesses incredible technical ability.
"Christos has produced outstanding numbers in terms of goals and assists over the last three seasons, and he's a player who will raise the technical level of our squad, while bringing positive energy, enthusiasm, and a strong mentality to our team.
"We're confident Christos will make a significant contribution to our club, and we hope our supporters will enjoy watching him play in an Arsenal shirt."
Speaking after putting pen to paper, Tzolis admitted the move was still sinking in.
"I need some time to realise, I think! It's absolutely amazing to sign for such a big club, the champions of England. I'm very proud to be part of this team for the next season."
He also revealed details of an hour-long conversation with head coach Mikel Arteta before agreeing the move.
"We talked about everything, about the club, about myself, about his plans, about me of course, about the team. It was only positive things."
Tzolis, who is no stranger to the Premier League having made his competition debut at the Emirates Stadium for Norwich in September 2021, said his experience across five countries had prepared him for the step up.
"I can say more or less that I know the level of the Premier League. I know it's the best league in the world... It's very physical, the league and the quality is very high, so I'm prepared for that."
He also reflected on facing Arsenal in the Champions League last season, a game Brugge lost 3-0 at home: "It was the most difficult team to attack against that I've played so far. We had some chances, but not very clear. They were very efficient also and scored three amazing goals against us, it was a fair result in the end."
Looking ahead to his first appearances in an Arsenal shirt, Tzolis said he was determined to make an instant impression.
"I'm a direct player, I go for goals or assists. That's my point of view as an attacker, as a winger. I'm always hungry to score or to give the final pass to my teammates."
On his ambitions for the season, he added: "My targets are to win titles, of course... I'm very proud to be part of this amazing team. I'm looking forward to meeting everybody on the pitch, at the stadium, and to score my first goal at the Emirates."
Tzolis will wear the number 17 shirt and has already joined up with his new team-mates at the Sobha Realty Training Centre for pre-season. The transfer is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
