There had been concerns that Spurs could be forced into a cut-price sale of the Brazilian striker, who is attracting interest from Everton, with just a year remaining on his current deal.
The London Evening Standard says, though, that Tottenham hold an option to extend Richarlison's contract by an extra 12 months, meaning they will not be pushed into accepting a reduced fee.
Spurs signed Richarlison from Everton in a deal worth around ยฃ60 million in 2022. He finished last season as the club's top goalscorer in all competitions, netting 11 times in the Premier League as Tottenham narrowly avoided relegation.
Despite that pivotal contribution, the 29-year-old continues to be linked with a move away, with a return to his homeland or to former club Everton both mooted as possibilities. Manager Roberto De Zerbi regards Richarlison, who scored the opening goal in Spurs' 3-0 win over Hoffenheim last weekend, as an "important player," though he admitted earlier this month that he did not know whether the forward wanted to stay.
"I don't know because I like him as a player and as a guy," De Zerbi said after Spurs' 2-1 friendly win over Chelsea in Sydney.
"He's unbelievable in terms of attitude and behaviour. But, in the end, we have to respect what he wants to do."
The Spurs boss added that Richarlison's own indecision had complicated the situation, though he stressed it had not created any issue with his commitment.
"Sometimes he says he wants to stay, sometimes he wants to leave. We have to speak anyway. There is not any problem. He's a lovely guy."
Richarlison's situation is further complicated by Tottenham's own plans in attack, with De Zerbi keen to bring in fresh options before the window shuts.
Everton, for their part, have made no secret of their long-standing affection for the Brazilian, who spent four seasons at Goodison Park before his move to north London and remains a popular figure among the club's supporters.
Any deal, though, would need to satisfy Tottenham's valuation, with the option to extend his contract giving the club considerably more leverage than had appeared to be the case only a few weeks ago.
