Thuram PSG talks open door for Goretzka as Juventus push for Kolo Muani return

Juventus are pursuing interlocking deals with PSG, with the potential sale of Khéphren Thuram emerging as the key that could unlock both the return of Randal Kolo Muani and the arrival of free agent Leon Goretzka.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are in preliminary discussions over Kolo Muani's second spell in Turin.

The 27-year-old French striker spent the second half of 2024-25 on loan at the club, is pushing to make the move permanent, and his camp has already reached an agreement in principle with Juventus.

PSG are seeking around €40m for a straight permanent deal — having already rejected loan-with-option arrangements at Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus — with the two clubs intending to conduct each transaction separately rather than as a direct exchange.

In the course of those talks, the name of Thuram, 25, has emerged as a potential departure. PSG are interested in the French midfielder as a potential long-term replacement for Fabián Ruiz, whose contract expires in June 2027. Juventus would not consider him untransferable; bought from Nice for €20m in 2024, he could now command approximately double that figure, generating a significant capital gain.

A Thuram sale would open a midfield vacancy that the Gazzetta points directly toward Goretzka. The 31-year-old Germany international becomes a free agent when his Bayern Munich contract expires on June 30 and has been loosely linked with Juventus for months.

He told reporters in March: "I want to play proper competitive football abroad once more."

MLS interest from Chicago Fire has not progressed, with an inner-European move considered far more likely.

The sticking point is wages. Goretzka's salary demands are understood to exceed Juventus's wage parameters, and the club will need to gauge his representatives on flexibility. A Thuram sale would provide both the financial room and the positional need to accelerate.
