The 19-year-old defender joined the French club on a season-long loan in August after progressing through Chelsea's academy and making two senior appearances for the Premier League side.
Antwi has quickly become a regular in Ligue 1, starting five matches this season as he looks to build the experience needed to return to Chelsea ready to compete for a first-team place.
Chelsea's official loan report has also highlighted his strong start in France, with the Swedish Under-21 international featuring at both full-back positions during the opening weeks of the campaign.
For Antwi, the move has provided an opportunity to enjoy a new league and a different environment while concentrating on playing regularly.
“It has been exciting. A new league, a new team – it has been good. I just look forward to continuing to play and enjoy it over there,” Antwi told Fotbollskanalen.
His performances have also earned praise from Strasbourg team-mate Sebastian Nanasi, who believes the teenager has the qualities to progress into Sweden's senior squad.
“I’m grateful that he says that.”
Antwi was quick to return the compliment, describing Nanasi as an excellent player and praising the midfielder's progress with the national team.
“He is a really good player. I’m grateful that he says it. From what I have seen, he is also a very smart player, and for his sake I’m happy that he has made it into the senior national team and done as well as he has.”
Antwi has represented Sweden at youth level through the Under-21s and is now trying to establish himself in senior club football after spending much of his development at Chelsea.
He signed a new contract with the London club in 2025, extending his agreement to 2028 with an option for another two years. Chelsea have continued to monitor his progress while allowing him to gain regular first-team experience in France.
The defender has made clear that his ambition has not changed despite the temporary move to Strasbourg.
“Definitely, it has always been my dream. I have learned to love the club, so hopefully it will be nice to be at Chelsea for a long time,” Antwi said.
The loan therefore represents more than a short-term change of scenery. Regular Ligue 1 football gives Antwi the chance to develop his game under greater pressure while keeping his long-term objective firmly in sight.
With Chelsea retaining him under contract, the challenge now is to turn a promising spell in Strasbourg into the platform for a sustained first-team career in London.
